The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is an old western. Although it is an old western it is different than an old western. In the movie there are three men. Blondie plays the good in the movie, Angel eyes plays the bad in the movie and Tuco plays the ugly. These three men are nothing alike but all have the same goal in mind. They all want to find the treasure that is worth $200,000. The movie takes place in the western United States. The movie is over three hours long but interesting through the three hours.

The director Sergio Leone was most famous for his use of cinematography and skilled actors. The three main characters Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach all play very different rolls but work very well together. Blondie and Tuco start to work together but Blondie’s only objective is to turn Tuco in to the police for the money. Then when they get into town Blondie finds out that Tuco is wanted in over 10 countries and is getting ready to be hung. Then Blondie shoots the rope to set Tuco free and they get away. Then knowing Blondie’s character he leaves Tuco to set off on his own. Then all three characters come about having the same goal in mind. They all want the $200,000. Angel eye is known as a killer who will do anything to have the money all to himself.

FINDING NEMO journal # 2

For my second journal I did Finding Nemo. The reason why I choose to do Finding Nemo is because I love fish and I think this movie is really funny. The movie is about Nemo who gets taken by a scuba diver in the middle of the ocean. Marlin is Nemo’s dad, who tries to find his son all through the movie. Then Marlin finds a fish named Dory on his adventure to find Nemo again. Dory is an annoying fish who can’t remember what happened in the previous five minuets. In the end Dory ends up helping Marlin find his way to Nemo and saves his life on the journey there. Marlin and Dory manage to get to where Nemo is by telling the other fish in the sea about what happened. They run into a few issues with jelly fish and sharks but make it there by there teamwork. When they finally reach Nemo, Marlin is the happiest fish in the sea!

The directors of Finding Nemo were Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich. They did a very good job of making some of the character look more powerful than others. In the scenes with the Bruce, the shark that wants to eat Marlin low angle shots are used. They are used to make Bruce look big and powerful. This shot also makes Marlin and Dory appear to be weak and doomed. Also in the film there was a lot of nondiegetic sound being used. This was used when Marlin and Dory were swimming through the jelly fish field when Dory was hitting all the tops of the jelly fish and you could hear her getting stung. The sound became louder and you could tell she was getting hurt.

This movie was in the top 100 movies for a reason. It is a movie that was made for everyone which makes it enjoyable for children and there parents. Also the way the directors designed the film to have so many colors made it easy for little children to understand what was going on in the movie. The creators made each fish a different color along with all the coral and reefs. This movie was also in the top 100 because the story line of the movie is very enjoyable and is a good life lesson.

Among all the great aspects of this movie there were a few weaknesses. The first weakness is that the movie came off to be a little scary for little children. In the scene where Marlin and Dory go down to find the goggles was a very scary scene for little children. It was scary because the music got very loud and dark. Also this came off scary because the directors made it seem like there was a possibility that Marlin or Dory were going to die. No little kids want there favorite character to die. Also another negative aspect of this movie is film critics said the movie moved at a slow paste. The story line of the movie moved by very slow which made the movie boring at some times. I do not agree with this statement at all because I thought the movie was very interesting and kept me at the edge of my seat the whole movie. I give this movie an A+!
